Eisbär 420 Aurora+3970x

Hi,
I bought the Eisbär 420 Aurora for my Threadripper 3970x.

Idle temperatures are around 45-50 degrees and full load it goes up to 85 degrees. Did I make the wrong choice with the cooling for this CPU because the cooling block doesnt cover the entire CPU? Or is there something I can optimize?

Eisbaer Aurora is not the best AIO for Threadripper CPUs. Like you said, it doesn`t really cover the complete CPU. We made the Eisbaer Pro Aurora AIO for Threadripper.

Ok thank you. I have one last question - how do you remove the TR4 metal thingies on the pump again to switch to the AM4 metal thingies?

You just have to pull them apart. If you still have a version with the old bracket, you need quite a lot of force. The new ones are easier to pull apart.
