Hello,
Long time fan, first time poster. I am working out a build and I am trying to estimate how many radiators/loops I might need for the cooling the components below.
Intel i9-13900k - ~125-250 watts
Graphics card - TBD - Aiming for RTX 4090 or 3090 - 350-450 W
Liquid Cooled power supply (Estimate of 80 w of cooling under full load of 1000w @92% efficiency) (FSP Hydro, I just think its neat).
Total with 20% buffer - 666 - 936 W.
My goal is to use the largest radiators possible, with the largest (and slowest) fans possible to minimize noise.
The 400mm Monsta caught my eye.
I was reading from another thread about how to estimate the TDP dissipated for each radiator unit.
The 200mm fans spin at ~1000 RPM, and with some crude extrapolation from the table below and a mod comment, that would be ~200w (120W+20W per step up to 200m) TDP per 200mm fan spinning at 1000 RPM.
The monsta has two spaces and is double thick so a single 400mm Monsta with 200mm fans spinning at 1000 RPM should yield ~800 TDP dissipated.
"But there is a simple rule you can follow
80W TDP per 120mm radiator space with 600rpm fans
100W TDP per 120mm radiator space with 800rpm fans
120W TDP per 120mm radiator space with 1000rpm fans
150W TDP per 120mm radiator space with 1500rpm fans
180W TDP per 120mm radiator space with 2000rpm fans"
"With 140 mm radiators.... i would say +20W for each step at the list above."
Few questions.
1. For double thick radiators, can I simply multiple the single thickness estimate by two?
2. Is there a more advanced calculator or spec sheet I could consider for trying to plan this out?
3. Can anyone comment if my estimate of the 400mm Monsta is accurate? If it is, I could trim some of the content in the machine to fit inside of the 800 TDP envelope and attempt to cool everything with a single radiator.
Thanks for your help.

Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta Full Copper 400mm Radiator
Bigger is better… right!? Make No Compromises, Use Copper. As usual, Alphacool also uses pure copper for the NexXxoS Monsta 400 mm Radiator. The end chambers, water channels and cooling fins are all made of copper and are a...

Is there a calculator to work out how much radiator you need to cool 280w TPD?
Hi guys Is there a calculator to work out how much radiator you need to cool 280w TPD? How do you work it out to ensure you have enough to cool things down? Thank you for your time henrik
