GPU AIO with other radiator

Hi,

I have a GPU such that i need to get this AIO: https://www.alphacool.com/search?sSearch=14418.

My problem is that i do not have the space for a 360mm radiator.

I was wondering if there was a possibility to swap the radiator for an other one (ideally without having to buy the 360mm one for nothing).

I was thinking of getting https://www.alphacool.com/shop/radi...exxxos-xt45-full-copper-quad-480/560-radiator.

I would mount it on my side pannel (corsair graphite 600T).

Or maybe i could go with a thicker 2 fan radiator?

What are my options?

HI,

it is possible to replace the radiator but please note that this will void your warranty. If you use a smaller radiator, you have to run the fans with higher RPM (1000RPM+). Therefore I would recommend a bigger radiator or at least an 360mm radiator.

Hi, the AiOs for the current GPUs are only available with 360mm radiators, because with the waste heat of the current GPUs, less cooling surface simply no longer makes sense. Technically, it would still work with a 240mm radiator, but beyond silent mode.

In short: no matter what you have in mind, you will have to invest additional money.

A thicker 2-fan radiator (>30mm) only makes sense if you equip it on both sides in push/pull mode.

What do you want to cool and what space does your case offer for radiators?

I want to cool my Asus strix RTX 3090.

I have a corsair graphite 600T with the mesh pannel:

I had the hope to be able to put a 2x2 (4 fans) radiator on the mesh (it's made for 4x120mm fans to be mounted on).

I thought about going full custom loop, but my budget kinda restricts it. I tried to see how much it would cost and i keep getting around 500-600$ instead of 300 for your IAO.

There would be a scenario where i heavily mod the case to force a 360mm rad in there but this is not my first choice.

I also thought about adding in a loop for my CPU but i already have an AIO for that. I don't feel like throwing away a working, efficient piece of equipment.

Thank you for your help

Hi,

I'll add a post before your next answer because i understand we're living far away considering time zones.

I think i might have diverged from my previous goal of going with a different radiator. I would be able to mount the 3 fan radiator behind my case (with a 3D printed bracket) since my case already has 2 holes that allow me to pass the cooling tube outside.

I had an other question about the possibility of linking the following systems together:

  1. https://www.alphacool.com/shop/aios...-360mm-rtx-3080/3090-rog-strix-with-backplate
  2. https://www.alphacool.com/shop/aios-sets/cpu-aio/24617/alphacool-eisbaer-aurora-240-cpu-digital-rgb
  3. https://www.alphacool.com/shop/gpu-...-n-acryl-active-backplate-3080/3090-rog-strix
I know that it is specified that i cannot put the back plate with the Eiswolf-2. I was wondering if it was a limitation of the pump? Since i am planing to have 2 AIO loops together would it fit? Maybe i could buy extra tube and fitting in order to incorporate the following adapter?

I am a bit surprised though that i am able to find a combination of gpu and cpu AIO that is less expensive than a custom loop. Am i doing something wrong in the component selection?

Would you have a similar setup made in a custom loop that would be in the same ball park in terms of cooling and price?

Thank you.

HI,

you can use the active backplate with an Eiswolf but only with a tube and connected with G1/4" fittings. It is not possible to use the backplate with our MCX disperser. The easiest way to connect the active Backplate with the Eiswolf would be our Extension Kit.
