Remove rubber gasket Core 1 CPU block

Since august this year (so just a couple of months) I've bin using the Alphacool Core 1 CPU block on my AMD 7950X3D

Last week, there was no flow what so ever in the cooling loop : nothing.
As it turned out, the Core 1 CPU block was fully clogged with rubber snippets, which seemd to be coming from the rubber gasket that ius between the 3D Jetpack and the fins on the cold plate.
So I cleaned the fns on the cold plate with a tooth brush, put the rubber gasket (which was fully deformed by the way) back in place and assembeld everything.
It was working perfect for a couple of days, yet I'm noticing a drop in flow in the loop again (I'm using a Byski tfc-cs-x flow meter)
Going on a guess I think it's the CPU block clogging again with snippets from the gasket rubber.

My question :
Is that rubber gasket between the 3D Jetpack and the the fins of the cold plate really necessary or can it be taken out entirely without any side effects ?

Hi,

the gasket is necessary. If not placed the water won´t flow as intented and will leak to the sides. Could you please send us a photo of the gasket, so that we can check it?

I'l take a photo of the gasket and place it here when I'm taking the Core 1 apart again.

As promised, here are a couple of photos of the rubber gasket.

Just assembled the Core 1 again, and it's close to impossible to correctly place the gasket on the coldplate if it's in this form.
It's close to fully blocking the inlet.

Hi , Did you get a response for this subject?

I had to disassemble my core1 because it was clogging the whole loop (I'm guessing it was the little gunk in the fins right under the jet).

Anyway, I noticed some slight deformation as well on the rubber gasket, nothing as bad as yours tho!

Cheers

Me again Mac_D, any hope?

As time passes, more this gasket warps, and the block becomes usable

It's a shame they don't sell these gaskets separately. Only solution is to buy a new 100€ cpu block 🤪 business

Nope, never gotten a response.
And my block reached the point were I'm better of throwing it away :
-Rubber is so distorted and warped (even flattened) you need to cut away small pieces if you want to put it back in place : else it starts blocking the intake port
- the rubber is horribly sticky for some reason ? like the rubber is drying out ?

The way I'm noticing the CPU block clogging up again is when the CPU starts showing heat spikes and going it to thermal throttle.
Cleaned the whole loop 2 weeks ago, was working perfectly for a week and a halve but a couple a days ago the heat spikes started again,

Currently I'm better of buying a new CPU block then to keep disassamble and clean this one every x weeks

@Max_D

that you never got an answer, I can´t believe. Did you check your spam and junk filter of your mail provider? If you are using an APP like outlook, check the website directly. If your mail provider places our answer in the Spam and junk filter they won´t be taken from an external app.

for you both, please write an mail to info@alphacool.com if you have any problems with your product and want to start an RMA process.

Thank you Vanzin :)

If possible, update us here, I'm interested in Alphacool's response.

It would be very sad if this block became useless in a short time, mainly because it is expensive, and in my country it is something like 7x more expensive.
