core 1 cpu block mounting position

Hi guys,

I have an Alphacool core 1 cpu block for an Intel lga 1700 socket.
I am confused about mounting position.
The manual says the logo should be on the top right when mounted.
When I go to the Alphacool website, the image has the logo on the top left when mounted.

Which do I follow?

The orientation in the manual and on the product images on the website is actually the same. It might just be confusing because the manual shows it from a different perspective. When you have the board in front of you, the logo should be in the top left corner — positioned so that it’s readable. The OUT port is then in the bottom right corner.

socket lever on right, therefore logo on top right

I don’t know how you interpret the picture, but for me the logo is at the top left of the image when the board is lying directly in front of you. How did you come to the conclusion that it’s on the top right?

in real life, socket lever is on right of motherboard. on manual, the lever is on the left. so the logo is on the top right of motherboard.

Ah… that’s what you mean. That’s true — I honestly didn’t notice it at all. In any case, the logo belongs in the top left, so that it’s oriented correctly and readable.

I have 2 more questions about mounting.

1) How would the 2 pieces of mounting bracket come together? bottom piece meeting top piece? or left piece meeting right piece?

2) Near the center of the backplate, there are 2 oblong holes. Should these point down when mounting?

How you place the clips doesn’t matter. I think it’s really irrelevant. Honestly, I’ve never even thought about it.
The long holes in the backplate are there to maintain compatibility with older sockets, since we use this backplate for various coolers that also support sockets 1200/1150/1151. Starting with socket 1700, the orientation doesn’t matter anymore.
