Alphacool Leak Testing Tool incl. Pump Question

Hello togehter,

im having buying a Alphacool Leak Testing Tool incl. Pump to check the cooling system for leaks. Is it necessary to install a valve between the pump and the rest of the test system to prevent air from flowing back toward the pump? I don't want this to skew the test results. Thank you very much for your answers.

No, that is not necessary. Simply connect the leak tester, pump it up, and wait for about 1 hour. You will see that around 0.1 bar is lost. That is normal, but it should not be more than that.

When you are finished and there is no further pressure loss, everything is fine. If you are losing a lot of air, please check the leak tester first. Just hold your finger over the connector and pump a little. This way, you can easily rule out whether the problem is with the leak tester rather than the system.
