Does this fit (yes/no/wrong backplate)

Hi, I have the "Alphacool Eiswolf 2 AIO - 360mm RTX 3090/3080 with Backplate (Reference) Article-No.: 11931".

I'm running it on a PNY RTX 3080 but I have a friend that has a ASUS Strix RTX 3090 that I can buy - does my Eiswolf 2 AIO fit this 3090 card? I tried checking the configurator but I can't work it out... to me it looks like it's the backplate that not compatible - then the question is: is a backplate required (I can use a riser if it looks ugly) or can I mod the backplate?

The cooler definitely will not fit the Asus Strix at all. The PCB layouts are completely different. Neither the backplate nor the cooler itself will fit. There’s nothing you can modify to make it work. I’m sorry to say this, but you’re making it sound a bit simpler than it is. Even if you somehow managed to mount the Eiswolf onto the Asus card, not all of the critical components would be cooled. The card would be damaged within a very short time.

Hi Eddy and thank you for the reply - I get it, the PCB's have different layouts and would need another CPU AIO cooler that fits the card.
