You have several connection options on this side, it doesn't matter which side you use as an inlet or outlet. So the left chamber as an inlet and the right chamber as an outlet, or the other way around. That depends more on your installation situation.
Depending on the installation situation, the connection on this side is intended for filling (who is at the top) or as a drainage option (who is at the bottom).
