Hi!
My watercooling start to be a bit old, and as a Watercooling build is not a thing that we can operate on easily, i really want to do things right, but do do so , I need advice from those who knows.
My actual case is a Phanteks enthoo primo with a Alphacool UT60, 6 noctua 140 3000 rpm in push pull and and "2 bay slot reservoir + pump.
This build was for an I7 11700K and a gtx 980Ti, but i acquired a rtx 4080 super Ichill WC and in some game i need to raise the speed of the pump but this one start to make noise (Almost 10 years the pump runs h24 so i can be understandable. ^^).
So I bought the G701 Hyperion and the first deception in my plan to do a best watercooling that what I have right now come from this hasty purchase.
It's a really beautiful case but it not allow me to have a "Big" watercooling as i have now.
I was thinking that I will be able to put a push pull with 6 cm radiator on top and a push with a 3 cm radiator in front, so i will gain "only" a 3cm push radiator at the front but it will be an improvement in term of capacity of dissipation to really keep things the coolest possible
But with this case, you can only put a 3cm radiator in front and on the top because, even if they claim you can put a 45mm radiator on the top, if you put a radiator greater than 3 cm on top, then you will cover the holes for the cables and will be forced to run the cable in front of the motherboard.
So i started to search for 3cm Alphacool radiators and i found a ST30 hpe 420, which i already received and is really wonderful, an I found a ST30 420 copper which appear to have only two ports to connect fittings.
And my question is why the st30 hpe Got 5 ports and the st30 have only 2?
Is it not hard to fill up and remove air from such radiator when it's placed on top an there is no port to fill from the top.
In my actual build, i fill the loop by the ports on top of the radiator, but i fear that with no port to fill or to purge air there will be air trapped on top of the radiator (but maybe with a 3cm radiator, the flow is so big that air can't stay there because in the 6cm on top, air is impossible to remove with the flow.
So my question about the ST30 is : can I put this radiator on top, fill it and remove air without having to rotate the case (20 kg empty)?
The CPU loop pump is an Alphacool Aurora D5 and i only cool the CPU with this pump.
I have also a distro plate pump combo that i want to use for the GPU.
That's why i prefer to use the ST30 HPE in front and for the GPU so the GPU will benefit of the best efficiency of the HPE and always have fresh air, the hot air will affect the CPU temps but as the CPU is generaly less used in game it need less fresh air than the GPU so that's why i wanted to put the ST30 on top.
And I also have a last question
Can i plug the Aurora D5 in the CPU fan header of the MB?
As i plan to use this pump to cool the cpu, it will be better if i can plug it in the cpu fan header to benefit of the security shut down in case of failure.
I have a rog maximus 13 hero MB and i planned to plug the Aurora D5 in the CPU fan header and the distroplate to the water pump+ header of the MB.
But i fear the PC will have the cpu fan error that will force me to remove the warning from the bios and I then will not be able to be alerted in case of failure of the equipement.
Do you know if i can plug the Aurora D5 in cpu fan header and keep the alarm shutdown feature?
Thanks by advance for your answers.
Have a good day.
