Hi, I just bought Alphacool "VPP series" Apex pump and I see that the outer ring on the pump (the one you can see without disassembling the pump) has a crack or a cut in it.
This is not a crack, but intentional. This is a locking ring that is put on at the end for safety. It must be open on one side, otherwise it would no longer be possible to get it over the hub. You don't have to worry about that.
