RTX 3090 FE Late to the Game -> Dual setup with 40.64mm = 2 Slot NVLink spacing possible?

Hi there,
I own 2x RTX 3090 FE, 2x 11941 water blocks, 2x 13039 active back plates and 2x 12987 GPU Terminal flat straight - Acetal.
One GPU is currently part of a custom water loop.
I also own a dual vertical GPU holder allowing me to mount 2 two slot GPUs at a spacing of 40.64mm center to center of the PCIe slots.

My idea is to run both GPUs NVLinked in a AI/ML workstation using the vertical GPU holder for training/inference of lager models -> 48GB VRAM.

I am irritated by the product specs mentioned in the datasheet of the 11941:
It states for Data cooler L x W x H: 120,7 x 231,5 x 29,2 mm
Measuring from the standoffs touching the PCB to the back of the acrylic part, I get around 24.4 mm which makes the significant difference:

24.4 mm Water Block
+13,3 mm Active Back Plate
-------------------------------
37.7 mm total

Even with the thickness of the PCBs in mind, which measure around 1.5mm, the sandwich would fit into a 40.64 mm spacing with a gap of approx. 1.44mm between the first ABP and the next water block. this would not be possible if the Hight is actually 29.2 mm, which I guess is including the passive backplate.

Perhaps you can help me sorting the measurements out before I open the loop to try fitting the two GPUs to my vertical mount for just figuring out that I missed something.

Second question:
I also ordered two 13041 MCX 2x distributor with 1m 5/3mm hose to feed / drain the ABP. My idea is to put one in front of the first GPU to feed both ABPs and a second one before the radiator (after the second GPU and the CPU) to drain both ABPs. Is this a valid configuration or is there a better solution?

Best Regards and thanks in advance for your support
Norbert
