VPP655 pump failed

Greetings from Finland

Something bad happened inside the pump/impeller and the impeller is not in balance anymore and is touching the body. Nothing found inside the pump/impeller or water that I drained out. (that I noticed...) Tried thorough cleaning anyway but in vain and now it won't spin or keeps horrible noise trying to. Have video but mp4 format is not supported to send to you through this forum. Ordered 5.6.2024 with customer nr: 1083791. I bought this from him unused so I will give you my information when/if this RMA goes through. This pump is from "15484 Alphacool Core 200 Aurora D5/VPP Ausgleichsbehälter Acetal/Acryl mit VPP655 PWM pumpe" product and is used with distilled water only. 360+280 rads and GPU+CPU in rotation. Actually the pump is only needed in this case that fits this reservoir...

Best regards
Petteri

Greetings back to beautiful Finland,

I suspect that something in the pump rotor is defective, specifically where it rests on the ceramic head. You will need to contact customer support directly for an exchange.
Please send an email to: info@alphacool.com
Also make sure to include your customer number, as you did here in the thread.

Apart from that, and this is not related to the defect itself, please do not use only distilled water. While it does work, no water loop is ever completely sterile. Eventually, you will get bacteria forming threads in the loop or algae growth. Use any ready-mixed coolant with additives instead — it’s simply better and safer. And if you are considering using a silver coil, please don’t. That was a topic years ago, but it’s completely ineffective today.

That was just luck, I only check in here once or twice a day, and you happened to write just as I looked. All right. Of course, it may currently take 1 or even 2 days until you receive a reply. We are currently having issues with shipments to the USA, and a lot has to be clarified with our US customers, so support is a bit slower than usual this week. DHL has stopped shipping goods to the USA, and there are other difficulties with UPS. Just for your information.
