I can’t say exactly when which monoblocks will be available yet. You’ll have to wait for the launch for that. Also, since there are several ASUS X870E boards, you’ll need to be more specific and provide the full model name of the board.

I'm running an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero and I'm holding off finishing my custom loop specifically for the Apex Monoblock. I saw the X870E Hero monoblock shown at Computex 2026. Could you confirm whether it's on the roadmap, and share any rough ETA for release? I'm happy to wait — I just want to plan my build around it. Thanks!

The monoblock for this motherboard will be released. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you when at the moment. Sorry, but I don’t have enough concrete information right now to give you a timeframe.

Nein, das Layout beim 870E ist völlig anders, auch wenn es auf den Bildern nahezu identisch aussieht. Ein entsprechender Monoblock wird noch kommen. Ich kann dir aber im Moment nicht sagen, wann genau. Mit einem Monat würde ich aber noch rechnen.

I have a question about MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI Monoblock:

After studying three 870 Tomahawk boards from MSI - they really looks like an identical PCBs on pictures. I mean X870 / X870E / X870E MAX Tomahawk WIFI boards.

So! Did you test this boards, I mean "E" and "E MAX" variants, on compatibility with your monoblock? Did it fit them?

Many PCBs look very similar or almost identical in pictures, but they are not. So far, we have not come across a single motherboard with an X870 chipset whose PCB layout was identical to that of an X870E motherboard.

The differences between motherboard PCBs are even greater than those between graphics card PCBs. Without removing all the motherboard heatsinks and the entire plastic I/O cover, it is impossible to determine from pictures whether the layouts are identical. Moreover, most of the images you see in online shops and on websites are renders, not actual photographs.

Hi, thanks for the answer, but I analyze online review photos like this (see attaches). And so far difference so subtle, almost none! Apex Monblock should fit

But would be nice if Alphacool will provide official info about (not) compatibility of their monoblock for X870E and X870E MAX versions of MSI Tomahawk.

P.S. I think culprit is a battery cable connector or the Battery itself, but I think it is possible to move Battery to fit the monoblock - but this would be unofficial.

The compatibilities for the monoblocks are always clearly listed as soon as they are available. And why should we list where it does not fit?

Judging by the pictures, the monoblock could actually fit. That would be the first time that a monoblock fits two motherboards with different chipsets. At least I do not see anything in the pictures that would prevent installation.
However, this is not a definitive statement, only a strong assumption based on the pictures.

How exactly is the battery supposed to interfere? It is located underneath the M.2 slot and is therefore not relevant for the monoblock.

Here the better picture of X870E to understand about Battery - it's glued to LAN RJ45 connector steel box. And bonus X870E-MAX PCB (a bit bad quality) - looks identical to X870E too.

Okay, I have to admit that I really had to look at it for quite a while just now before I understood where the battery is located.
I cannot say whether this will become a problem. Less because of the battery itself, but more because of the cable and the power connector. I honestly cannot tell you whether the connector will fit underneath the monoblock. Not so much the connector on the board itself, but rather the plug that goes onto it.
I suspect that the plug with the cable going upwards will collide with the monoblock. But I cannot tell you more than that without trying it myself, and unfortunately I cannot do that.

We list what is confirmed to be compatible. That already excludes everything else. It is no different with graphics card coolers.
