Thank you for the clearification? And a bit assuring to see that stock air cooler haven’t active cooling for these caps. However the airflow with stock cooler will be quite high as the caps are just below the heatspreader.

Hi @Thomas_S Any news on these cutouts/recesses from the coldplate? The LR22 caps directly under these recesses have no direct cooling and Im a bit afraid it could lead to problems like cracking or early degeneration of the components. I tried to find temperture operating range for the LR22...

I agree, it does look like a flaw not cooling those components...does other 3000 series blocks from AC have a similar cutout, or from other manufacturers for that sake? If someone got some temp sensors laying around it would be interesting to see what the deviation in temps are and if the temp...

Hmmm, I think you got some installation issues buddy.... 1) VRM pads, outer most pads marked with 2mm. It doesn't seem like there is any connection to these pads. I found that I needed to use 2mm pads because of a 1mm gap. Check if you got any pads left over or some extra 2mm laying around. Or...

Hmmm I think I saw that small plastic bag and thought it was empty....I’ll double check and edit the post if thats the case (y)

Ok so I finally got around to install the block today.... I had the same issue with gap(approx 1mm) between thermal pad and the lowest VRM components as other have described earlier. However I was able to use some additional 1mm pads to get good contact. Also M2 washers was missing in the...

I bought a Threadripper cpu block and glued it to the backplate. I lapped the entire block flat for max metall 2 metall surface and used thermal paste on the whole surface except for 5mm on the edges. Then I used gorilla glue to fix the block to the backplate. Temps dropped from 85-90c...

Smth similar happened to me. Check your email if you got payment details for bank transfere. If you got that it’s pretty easy to just do an transfere from your account.

I’m not sure of the thickness of the pads, and have been looking for the same information. Did you check that the pads came in contact with all components? You should see pressure marks from each component in the pads. Be sure to check this as if there is a lack of contact you could end up...

Thanks for sharing... But I'll definitely wait for the Alphacool block, shouldn't be more time to get that I guess. The HCM block is listed with expected availability in mid May, and from the few reviews they have on site it looks like you could expect some extra delivery time as well... The...

Yes, thats the theory. Information about same pcb layout came from another member in the begining of this thread, search and find that and you could probably ask directly for more information.

I like the idea of an external radiator like Eiswand, and have gone down that road myself. I guess this is what you refer to: Eiswand solo IMO an external radiator and a custom loop gives you much more freedom to add components and upgrade in case of need, compared too an AIO. It does come at...

Maybe I'm too positive by nature.....but I take this as a good sign :D We would very much appreciate information when you are able to talk about it, that is if active backplate is being made.
