Hello, I've recently bought one of your products, and while the pump is working as intended, I cannot quite figure out whether

1) It has RGB functionality built in
2) If I've actually implemented it correctly.

I've purchased the attached cable and and connected this to the aRGB header on my motherboard but it doesn't seem to light up?

It's this product. Am I being a dummy ?

Hi,

in principle, that is the correct cable. Which motherboard are you using, and which exact header did you connect it to? Could you please link it or provide the exact motherboard model and the specific header designation?

Ideally, to rule out any possible sources of error, a photo of your system showing how everything is wired would be very helpful.

There are really only three direct possible causes:

  1. The LEDs are defective.
  2. You connected the splitter instead—that is, the cable meant to connect additional LEDs. This would only be possible if the cables were connected incorrectly, which normally shouldn’t be possible, or only in a very… well… unfortunate way.
  3. The motherboard header is the wrong one, or the header itself is defective. Do other ARGB devices work on that same header?
Once we have that information, we can narrow it down quickly.

Hello,
So like the picture suggests they sent me two of these cables, so I've just tried swapping the header to one that was working for other ARGB devices (a watercooling block) and a different cable but with no luck. It could be the cables (both) are bad - can you link to a suitable one ?

For information I'm using a x870 tomahawk wifi
https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/MAGX870TOMAHAWKWIFI_English.pdf namely the JARGB_V2_1~3 headers (tried each).

Many thanks

Basically, that would be item 18604 and most likely 18698. The latter is available in various lengths.
However, I doubt that the issue is caused by the cables. I would rather assume that the LEDs are defective. A faulty cable is much less likely in this case.

Ah apologies - the cable I got was not the Alphacool one - I couldn't find it on the website in the first instance but something off ebay.
It doesn't seem that alphacool's amazon storefront sells the cable on it on its own

I could only find this - which is part of a bundle or this which is 4 pins.

I'd order it direct but the cable costs ~ 20 euro after postage, and ofc the LEDs could be defective anyway....

We ourselves do not sell anything on Amazon, eBay, or similar platforms. Those listings are always from distributors or other resellers.

RGB – 12V → 4-pin
aRGB – 5V → 3-pin

The linked 4-pin cable is not compatible with aRGB. I already gave you the item numbers you would need. I just can’t link anything from Amazon or eBay. However, you can usually search for products there using the EAN numbers. You might want to try that.
