Hi.

I have buy a Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-N Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080/2080Ti Aorus Xtreme for my RTX 2080 8go Aorus

My gpu goes up to 80 ° at full load, the water is at 43 °.
I was forced to put at least 1mm of thermal paste otherwise there was no contact between the graphics chip and the waterwlock. the screwing inserts are too long by 0.5mm. the memory pads are slightly in contact and the inserts are in contact with the pcb. how to do?

the original cooling has the heat pipes directly in contact (with a little thermal paste) with the graphics chip.

Cordially.

Hi There, is it possible to shoot some photos and upload them here so we can see what the problem is?

Thank you.

Hy.

The third picture are the original aircooling. The heat pipes are directly in contact with the gpu chip.

I measured the rating Between gpu and top M1.5 spacer, on the air cooling I have 2.7mm on the alphacool waterblock I have 3.4mm and on the pcb of the graphics card rtx 2080 8go Aorus I have 2.9mm. it is therefore missing between 0.5 and 0.7mm on the waterblock. the M1.5 spacer.
The M1.5 spacers are 2.3mm long on the waterblock and 1.5mm on air cooling from Gigabyte.

Would a copper spacer with the size of the TU104 chips be sufficient?

Cordially.

Hey. we have graphit foil regarding this issue. It is a problem since the beginning of last year. Some graphics cards the GPU sits deeper than it should be and there lies the problems. Please write an email with your address to info@alphacool.com so we can send you some graphit foil. My colleauges will let you know with the further steps.
