Hello,

i just received the Alphacool Eiswolf 2 AIO - 360mm RTX 4080 Suprim and notices some coloration on the waterblock.

Is this normal, will it dissolve when die AIO is running (does not look like it)?

Does this have negative effect on the cooling or will get bigger in the future?

Hello, if the nickel plating comes loose, this does not affect the performance of the radiator. It is only an optical defect.

Hello astaaa,
Alphacool writes about this product on its website:

Chrome-plated copper
The cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers.

So chrome plated and not nickel plated. Or not.....?
Alphacool does not write on its website that the customer will receive a brand new product with an optical defect.

Thank you for your reply, my suspicions have been confirmed, Alphacool is unable to deliver a flawless product. This is really sad...
