Alphacool has external psu - issue

Hello,
I purchased an external PSU from Alphacool (which I think is a brilliant idea) to test my fans and their RGB while sleeving and shortening cables. The fan speed cable works fine, but the RGB doesn't. However, when I test the RGB with the PSU inside my PC, it works perfectly.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

This is a pure 12V power supply that does not have a 5V line, which is required for the aRGB lighting. That’s why it doesn’t work for testing the lighting.
