Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 1080mm Radiator mount

Is it possible to mount a 1080 radiator to a frame with the drain port facing down without any bottom support, similar to a standard 360 radiator? Or will the solder fail under the load? Is the radiator designed only for installation with horizontal support on a steel plate, meaning the frame holes are strictly for mounting fans and cannot serve as the radiator's mounting points?

You can mount the radiator however you like. The orientation is completely irrelevant for this radiator and any other radiator as well.

Are you absolutely certain that the brazing of the radiator core to the metal frame, along with the M3 screws in thin-walled threads, can withstand such a load if suspended by the radiator frame with the drain port facing down?

I think you may be underestimating the overall stability a little. There used to be spacers that allowed the radiator to be screwed to the wall at four points, also using the standard fan threads. This was sold for almost 15 years, and I’m not aware of a single case where anything tore off. Unless, of course, you pull on the whole assembly or add extra weight to it in some way.
