Core 1 CPU Block Orientation

Hi,

Can the new Core 1 CPU block (on LGA1700) be used in various orientations (rotated 90º anticlockwise or 180º)? See attached pictures.

If it can be used in other orientations, would there be any significant lose in performance by doing it?

Thanks.

Hi @pioneersti

The Core 1 cooler can be mounted in any direction. It is only important that the IN and OUT are connected correctly, otherwise the cooling performance is greatly reduced.

Best Regards

HI,

The Core 1 water block should be mounted as shown in the manual, to have the best cooling capacity. IF you rotate the water block, the inner mechanik doesn´t align with the CCD,which will cause higher temperatures.

Thanks for the info guys!

I currently have the Eisblock XPX Aurora PRO (mounted upside down, but ports are correct) and it works great. I really like the appearance, and the review results, of the Core 1 so I'm thinking of upgrading. Now I know it must be oriented one way I can plan the hose routing to suit.
