Eisbaer Pro Aurora 420 mounting Q

Recently put together a new Threadripper 7980X build with an Aurora 420 and had a question on the installation. The directions clearly state to tighten down the nuts hand-tight only, which is fine, but what is considered hand-tight? Right now the tops of the nuts are flush with the mounting bolts, but since the nuts are open on the back I could certainly hand-tighten them down more, probably to the point of fully compressing the springs.

Is there a preferred amount of hand-tightness? The amount of pressure seems about correct compared to other AOIs I've used, but this one is significantly larger than the others.

Hand-tight is always difficult to describe. It is important that the springs are not screwed on as far as they will go. The springs still need a little play.

I'm having the same problem. I'm not sure if I'm pressing hard enough for the contact to work properly. It feels like it's 1 or 2 mm away and isn't cooling well. I have the 3970X with the Alphacool Eisber Aurora 240mm cooler, and it's like an oven, reaching 94°C while playing Star Citizen and 88°C while playing PUBG. I don't know if this is normal.
