RTX 5090 waterblock compatibility question

Hello,

The Alphacool ES RTX 5090 Reference 1-Slot-Design REV1 with Backplate water block supports the Inno3D RTX 5090, PNY RTX 5090, and MSI RTX 5090 VENTUS. However, the Alphacool Core GeForce RTX 5090 Reference with Backplate supports only the Inno3D RTX 5090 and MSI RTX 5090 VENTUS. That said, the Alphacool Core GeForce RTX 5090 EPIC-X with Backplate supports only the PNY RTX 5090.

Can you please elaborate on how the Alphacool ES 1-Slot-Design REV1 supports cards from all three brands, while the CORE water block supports only specific brands?

They are different coolers, so it’s only logical that there can be differences. The PCBs are not identical, and the coolers are not built in exactly the same way due to differences in water flow orientation, design, terminal layout, overall height, etc.
The graphics cards listed are also not completely identical in terms of PCB layout. The base layout is the same, but there are still various smaller differences.
