So, some possible good news. I made the beast work again

.
I covered the holes with kapton tape to isolate the offending screw hole and also remaining 3 to level out the core mounting pressure:

I have also raised the block from board about 0.3mm, in my case this was perfect as the pressure is still fine and good core contact, with bonus less PCB bend. One standoff did not need washer at all (the one in plastic at the back of card). I used washers for Airsoft - 4mm hole, 0,2mm and 0,1mm combo. I put them under the standoffs (you can unscrew them, 5mm socket). For plastic ones, i used again Airsoft washers but ones with 3mm holes and put them between PCB and standoff.
Plus I had to swap to 1.5mm thick thermal pads (TG Advance), also good contact and squish. Kept original backplate 3mm pads and placed them a bit better so they are kinda being used as pressure points to the back of components too.
So yeah, for anyone trying to use this block with the "newer" design of Gigabyte cards (except V2, they are completely different as i have heard), its possible but you will need to mod board and cooler a bit (washers perhaps not necessary, for me i felt they were).
@Eddy Just FYI, if Gigabyte does any other dirty trick like this with other cards.
