Block came yesterday, i installed it anyways, could this be an issue down the road? Image is out of box no touching. Edit: also i would ask what is the ideal speed, i have one 360 and 280mm copper alphacool rads and a ekwb D5, what should the RPM be like because of the restrictive block style the xpx pro has? I had a magnitude before. Thank you!!

If the cooler arrived to you in that condition, I would replace it. Either there was a manufacturing defect that was overlooked, or the cooler was hit later on, which damaged the nickel plating. Either way, that is a valid reason for a replacement.

As for pump performance, I do not want to give you any definite figures. Everyone has their own preferences and opinions when it comes to the ideal flow rate. Our coolers barely benefit from extremely high flow, and they are also not very sensitive to lower flow rates. For example, in my own private system, I run the pump at 40% PWM (Apex pump), and my setup includes a GPU cooler, a CPU cooler, three 360 mm radiators, and six quick-release connectors. I certainly do not have the absolute best temperatures, but everything stays cool enough to avoid throttling, and all temperatures remain well within a safe range.

Do you think this is purely cosmetic, and the noticable brown spot can not reach into the loop? Performance seems in line, and everything else except the top chrome pieace seems healthy. I will do more tests but so far no issues.

This is purely a cosmetic defect and does not affect the cooler or its cooling performance. It will not spread further, nor will it move into the inner area where the issue could come into contact with water.

Of course, there is still the concern that a similar defect could also be present inside, where it cannot currently be seen. That would obviously not be ideal. To verify that, the cooler would have to be disassembled and inspected internally.
