Guys, please, stop spamming. Obviously alphacool reps will post news w/o us asking .. when there will be such.
In NO way, way too soon (by common sense of how long it may take) nagging them, will make process of design and manufacturing quicker and thus news material to post about. Such...
This may need release of that integrated rad/pump unit separately without block (i predict, that due low volume for these specific blocks there might be not enough business incentive to release another even smaller volume combination of that specific block + AIO unit). That rad-pump kit + maybe...
Well, even 2x120 will be more efficient then stock air cooling of similar size. 1) stock air cooling is way way more airflow restricted, until 30# series PCB/cooler design most commonly not "blow-through" at all, and even now, it's blow through partially for "half of one fan", so more...
Sounds good idea for optionally selectable at purchase "extra" to come in set with block for those that don't want to deal with everything DIY. It would also allow reusing lot of components from already existing other product. @Eddy , imho worth considering. Not for me, with already existing LC...
If you are new, suggest to RTFM, as in google on some liquid cooling guides.
For to buy, you need rad, fans, pump, fittings, tubing. Premixed coolant. (or distilled water + some silver bit & some biocide). Optionally reservoir to ease bleeding. Optionally fan/pump controller. Things to look for...
Eddy: don't belittle your efforts. Even if you are just initial link in chain to getting block made, i'm guessing that with you not estimating demand in conversations and not bringing it "to the boss table", blocks for these cards wouldn't ever get past "is available? -no" stage :)
I'd rather love for cards initially to have no rgb, and more plain looks .. but at 50eur cheaper :). Chose my card certainly not because of those features but for performance. Same with my new 55"4K monitor, i'd prefer for it to be w/o back rgb & w/o soundbar for 150e less .. but in most cases...
Hakanese: i had such idea too. But it won't work. While PCB is shared across several cards .. stock air cooler AND rgb - is not. And it certainly won't make business sense to make two custom blocks, one for Gainward, another one for Palit, for both manufacturers for narrower niche performance/OC...
Guys, please be happy with fact that block will be made. Any extra pushing from our side won't make R&D & manufacturing process any faster then it's normally possible for sure. Especially in these times, when many logistic processes are delayed due corona and such. I don't beleave it getting to...
@RosaPanteren were browsing alphacool's shop .. and thought that theirs D-RAM cooler (acetal , plexi or with rgb aurora varieties) would fit well for your wished backplate cooling use. It seems big enough, of flat shape, should be simple to fit on top of stock or alphacool's backplate (if there...
@Eddy i'm guessing that it's more then possible, that after first batch is sold out there might be later on other potential customers that found out too late. Not just for this case/block, but also for future and for other blocks, imho worth for Alphacool to set up some service/webpage for sake...
?Sorry for being too nagging, i'm sure that you need to spend loads of time answering different people in many threads regarding different possible products, and to each theirs seem of utmost importance :)
As for small batch planned .. any way to ensure to be one that gets it? For eg. forum...
Eddy: just that i didn't see post/statement of "we will" :), more mention that many other products in pipeline and that we may overestimate block numbers for these cards in overall international market, no response yet from Palit regarding board drawings and mention how to send in card .. so i...
From latest Eddy's posts now i'm 85% sure that block will be made, even if he is not allowed to post until "when it's done" or bosses given green light for statement. So now it's just wait for release, and i can feel at ease, that i didn't made mistake with my card choice :) (i did check prior...
AFAIK yes, most gpu vendors for cheapening out R&D & simplifying manufacturing costs have 3080 sharing PCB with 3090 of same "model", just few less chips like memory ones, soldered on board. Palit & Gainward included. That's the reason one can see from already released LC waterblocks for other...
People are just starting to write on offtopic things while waiting, as there are no updates/news from Alphacool's side :(
As for better searchability of this thread to enable potentially more people informing about their interest in block production, imho thread creator (if he has permissions)...
I didn't pay attention to airflow direction at all. I just noted that airflow looks blocked there, as fan on top of card, on backplate, near i/o port bracket is on blank backplate part without cutouts, irrevelant of direction it unsuccessfully tries to blow air to.
i'd put beneath that fan motheboard stands/spacers (or washer stack & longer bolts) then (not beneath other fan, where there is backplate cutout). Should rise it's effectiveness, when there is airflow, not same warmed up air turned around.
I'm trying to understand, how leftmost fan near port bracket on top of backplate may work. Doesn't it lie on flat backplate with nowhere for air to pass as there is no corresponding cutout, so fan at most just produces slight vacuum or slight pressure of air staying in place?
Sent in card won't change decision if block will be made or not, it depends on alphacool's decisions by unknown criteria/available sales data/customer number estimate/other new blocks and their importance. It will help though after decision of making or not block done, but if Palit still hasn't...
